Abstract
Extensible Markup Language (XML) has become an important standard within the library community where it is used both to represent and exchange data and documents. As with any language, XML has a syntax and vocabulary, but it's easy to learn the basics and to start using XML fairly quickly. In this pre-conference half-day workshop, Karen and Elizabeth will provide a hands-on introduction to XML basics and demonstrate a selection of pertinent areas where e-resources librarians can easily use XML technology.
