ER&L makes a commitment to an online conference and has since the beginning of ER&L so that geography will not be a barrier to access to the conference. For ERL20, we plan to once again record and stream all peer-reviewed sessions.
What is the Online Conference?
Not being able to be in Austin in person doesn’t mean you cannot attend ER&L. Library professionals and campuses from 22 countries on 6 continents have participated in ER&L via the Online Conference. Many attendees watch from home; some share group access with library staff and students; others hold virtual ER&L conference viewing parties.
All peer-reviewed sessions will be recorded and available to watch online. During the conference, we will deliver multiple concurrent Live streaming selections during each hour of ER&L, March 8-11. The non-live sessions will be available On-Demand within 24 hours of presentation. All will also be available On Demand for 1-year post-conference.
The Online Conference can be watched online via your browser. No special hardware is necessary. You can watch the sessions from home, the office or from your tablet, on a Mac, PC or iDevice. Group Access tickets allow for multiple different sessions to be viewed from multiple locations simultaneously.
How do I attend the Online Conference?
It’s as easy as 1…2…3…
Step 1: Purchase a ticket for the conference.
Step 3: In February, 1 month prior to the conference, we will send you an email with the link to the Online Conference, your login and password, and connectivity information.
What is included in the Online Conference?
All peer-reviewed sessions will be available to be viewed via the Online Conference. Sessions are categorized into 3 groups:
1. Available LIVE + On Demand: These sessions are broadcast Live during their presentation time in Austin*. These sessions will also be available On Demand after recording. During most time slots, 2-3 sessions will be available to choose from for Live viewing.
2. Available On-Demand: These sessions are available to view within 24 hours after being presented in Austin.
3. Not Recorded/ Not Available Online: Workshops, Posters, Lightning Talks, and a few selected sessions will only be available in Austin and not be available online.
For Group Tickets: 1 institutional login will be provided that can be shared with up to 10 attendees. Multiple sessions may be viewed from multiple locations simultaneously.
*All presentation times are Central Time.
Closed captioning all of the sessions will be available on the Online Conference platform soon after the live airing. All Live and On-Demand sessions will be closed-captioned.
ER&L is committed to making the Online Conference as useful to attendees as possible. Our goal will be not only to disseminate conference content but to incorporate the ER&L sense of community and fun for those who cannot travel to Texas.
